2024 Rockport MA Harvest Fest| Full Event Schedule & Details
Ahhh late September, that enchanting time of year when football season kicks off, apple cider & PSL’s are flowing like the Euphrates, and visions of orchard visits dance in your head.
While summer in New England is technically over, it’s still too soon to take out the air conditioner because you know “there’s gonna be another wicked hot day.” It’s shorts and hoody weather, and even though your tan is fading, you’re really not ready to get into your annual lumberjack costume quite yet.
While you may not quite be ready to embrace all things fall just yet, be sure to flip the switch by October 19, 2024. That is the day that the beloved Harvest Fest returns to Rockport Massachusetts!
2024 Harvest Fest will be the first autumnal celebration in Rockport since it was cancelled due to Covid in 2020. Hard to believe it’s been that long!
Harvest Fest is a celebration of all things fall and the coastal village Rockport provides the perfect scenic backdrop for this event. Spend a weekend by the ocean in a quintessential New England setting enjoying incredible seafood, pastries, deserts, baking competitions and stores that are all open and embracing the season.
This year’s Harvest Fest will feature live music from local musicians including everyone’s favorite classic rock from The Headlands, fun interactive Sea Shanty’s from Three Sheets To the Wind and jazz standards beautifully arranged by DeDe & Arne.
Rockport’s favorite teetotaler, Hannah Jumper, may be rolling over in her grave, but the event will also include some tasty libations from Rockport’s own Rockport Brewing Co. There will also be a number of local food trucks including Meat and Sweet Foods, Crepe du Jour, and Newburyport Crab Cake Co. to name a few.
But a celebration of the Harvest would not be complete without enjoying the fruits de mer! If you’re looking for the authentic Rockport experience, you can enjoy all of the great lobster rolls, oysters, and steamed crustaceans at local haunts like Roy Moore Lobster, Lobster Roller, Bearskin Neck Bistro, and Fish Shack. They have you covered with the freshest seafood that comes right out of the harbor and into their back door! Can’t get any fresher than that.
Plus, popular restaurants like Feather & Wedge, My Place By The Sea & Fleur Cuisine are sure to provide the perfect gathering spot when you need to recharge and enjoy some delicious cuisine with fresh local ingredients.
This year’s Harvest Fest will feature a number of live performances and local musicians and entertainers throughout the day. There will be rummage sales, children’s games, local makers, artisan goods and sweet treats to sample.
One event that we’re excited about is the Apple Pie Bake Off which will feature local bakers vying for the coveted prize of Best Apple Pie!
In addition, there will be live animals, face painting, and other seasonal crafts to enjoy. The 2024 Harvest Fest will be fun for the whole family!
Of course, a trip to Rockport wouldn’t be complete without visiting all of the local Rockport MA Shops and art galleries. There are unique shops and galleries in Dock Square, on Main Street and all the way down Rockport’s famous Bearskin Neck!
There are so many fun things to do in Rockport and the fall is the perfect time to explore the area.
Whether you are looking for that perfect piece of unique coastal art for your home or to create a gallery wall for your apartment the artists of Rockport have something for every occasion. You’ll be amazed by how many talented and creative makers there are in this scenic little seaside village. And, the Rockport MA Harvest Fest is the perfect opportunity to get a jump start on that holiday shopping too!
There are also many places to update your wardrobe for the season and embrace sweater weather. Be sure be sure to pop into Denim Blanket Company at 4 Dock Square for a cozy blanket and fall gear as well as some special fall treats for all festival goers.
