Rockport is known for so many things: its beautiful beaches, talented local artisans, rich history, and the postcard-like setting that features the famous red fishing shack, Motif#1.
But one thing that you may not realize about Rockport is that it has some pretty impressive cuisine in town. One of the best Rockport MA Restaurants is, without a doubt, Feather and Wedge.
A newcomer to the Rockport dining scene, Feather and Wedge was opened in 2016 by friends Stephen Smit and Charles Gladstone. The establishment offers casual fine dining with locally sourced ingredients.
It was a welcomed addition to the local dining scene which includes local favorites like Roy Moore’s Fish Shack, Brackett’s Oceanview, and My Place By The Sea.
The cuisine at Feather and Wedge is refined yet accessible and certainly plays on the rich seafood heritage of Rockport. The menu changes regularly and showcases the chef’s creativity and versatility.
Let’s take a closer look at the menu to give you a better idea of what to expect. Dishes include starters like Spicy Shrimp Bisque, Local Jonah Crab Salad, Masoor Dahl, and Tuna Tartare.
For entrees you can enjoy dishes like Shrimp Curry, Maine Family Farm Ribeye, and Seared Halibut.
The vibe is laid back yet sophisticated with cool grays, a granite bar, and large scale pictures of Rockport’s quarrying past. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and has a quintessential Rockport vibe.
If you’re feeling like easing into the day on Sunday you can cruise over to and enjoy a Jazz Brunch. The Rockport MA Restaurant is just a 5 minute walk from Addison Choate!
Don’t take our word for it! Here are some actual customer reviews!
Great Experience!
“Have been to F&W twice now, and both visits were wonderful experiences. The location and atmosphere is very nice, nestled in Rockport Center with decor referencing Rockport’s past as a quarry town. The food is of high quality, and the well prepared & presented with interesting and flavorful options. The service is efficient, yet not rushed, serves to create a relaxed experienced, even when the smallish dining room is full. Overall, this is a winner, and not just another typical tourist oriented restaurant in a charming New England harbor town.” – Dan339G – Trip Advisor
Impressive!
“Location downtown. Parking challenging. Food worthwhile. Modest menu with excellent options. We savored the pork chop and tuna. Owner Steven (sp)? Is a true gentleman and stayed close to his customers. Lyla was a terrific waitstaff – efficient, attentive and very thoughtful. Open about three years and an important addition to fine dinning in Rockport. Limited view of the harbor in the back. Very loud especially early in the evening.” – rbkrb – Trip Advisor
